How MoolKey works without a password vault
MoolKey is a deterministic password manager. Instead of looking up a saved password, it recreates the same password or PIN from the same account details and your private phrase.

A recipe, not a password list
A traditional manager opens an encrypted vault and retrieves a saved secret. MoolKey repeats a calculation. The account context tells it which recipe to run, and your private phrase supplies the secret input.

Four steps from memory to login
You repeat the details you know. MoolKey repeats the calculation. The generated value only appears when you ask for it.

Enter a familiar app, website, card, or device name. Use the same name when you need this credential again.

Know the trade before you move an account
Deterministic password management removes a stored credential vault. It also gives up some conveniences that traditional managers provide.
What changes
- Generated passwords and PINs are not saved by MoolKey.
- The password itself does not need to sync between devices.
- One account can change versions without changing the rest.
What remains your job
- Remember and protect one strong private phrase.
- Copy and paste credentials because MoolKey does not autofill.
- Move accounts manually because existing password lists cannot be imported.
- Keep a safe backup because a forgotten phrase cannot be recovered.
Questions worth answering before you start
The short answers include the limits. A password manager should not make you discover those after you depend on it.
Deterministic means the same inputs produce the same output. MoolKey combines an account name, a masked identifier, an account version, and your private phrase. It calculates the password or PIN when you need it instead of reading it from a saved credential list.
